The Hazelbeach boat club is open to residents of the village only and enjoys very reasonable mooring rates.  The large tidal range in the Haven however, means that for much of the day many of the boats are either high and dry on the large mud bank or are on non-drying mooring which are a considerable way off shore.</p>

<p>The pier, as it known, is the remnant of a much larger structure which extended far further down the beach than it does now.  This area was saved from erosion and turned into the useful resource we see today in the 1960's by the voluntary effort of the original members of the Hazelbeach Boat Club.</p>
